Thierry Henry was lavish in his praise for Roberto Firmino following Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Southampton on Sunday. The Brazilian was again instrumental in helping Liverpool secure a good victory at St Mary’s a ground which has not been a happy hunting ground in recent visits. Firmino is starting to get the praise that many feel is deserved and the fact that he has scored 20 goals this season so far shows that he is becoming the complete forward.

Who better to confirm this than the Sky Sports pundit who produced an in-depth analysis of Firmino's display on Monday Night Football and revealed that he would have loved to have played alongside the striker.

"The way he plays, the way he works, the assist that he had - everything that he does. That's why he always plays," Henry told Sky Sports . "What a finish [against Southampton], that's not an easy finish at all, the goalkeeper doesn't even move."I've been in the situation when sometimes you flick the ball and it's a flick where you're like, 'I hope he gets it!'. No, everything that he did had a meaning. "He sees Stephens coming to him and Salah going into the gap. He could have come and played short, but that might have been blocked by Stephens. If you're a good player and clever player like he is, you want that sure ball. "What a finish [against Southampton], that's not an easy finish at all, the goalkeeper doesn't even move.
